Getting started
On first launch, a grown-up creates a reader with a name, an age and a buddy. Open an adventure and tap Start reading once; LiliPad keeps listening and moves ahead after each correct word or sentence.
Common questions
LiliPad doesn't hear my child. Check that LiliPad is allowed to use the Microphone and Speech Recognition in the Settings app, read in a quiet room, and try the phrase "The word is …". If on-device listening isn't available on an older device, a grown-up can choose Apple speech service in Parent corner.
Can we practise without the microphone? Yes. Turn on Read together in Parent corner; a grown-up listens and taps "My grown-up heard it".
The words are too easy or too hard. In Parent corner, open the reader and change their age, or choose a reading level from Pre-K to 5th grade. Each level keeps its own place.
The hint voice sounds robotic. Download an Enhanced or Premium English voice in Settings › Accessibility › Read & Speak › Voices. LiliPad uses the best English voice installed.
Does progress sync between devices? No. Progress stays on each device and is removed if the app is deleted.
